「第23回ノルウェーフレンドシップヨットレース」が今年も盛大に開催されますことを、心からお祝い申し上げます。
本大会は、1964年の東京オリンピックの際、ノルウェー王国のハーラル皇太子殿下が選手として江の島の地を訪れられたことをきっかけに、日本とノルウェーの深い友好の証として歩みを重ねてまいりました。今や湘南の春を彩る国際色豊かなレースとして、多くのセーリングファンに愛されています。青く輝く相模湾を舞台に、日頃の練習の成果を存分に発揮し、風を読み、波を超えて競い合う皆様の姿は、観る人々に勇気と感動を与えてくれるものと確信しております。
さて、今大会のようにスポーツやイベントなどを通じて人々が集まり楽しむ機会を創出することは、スポーツの振興や地域活性化につながる大切な取組です。本県では、2027年１月から２月にかけて、国民スポーツ大会冬季大会アイスホッケー競技会を開催します。これを機に、アイスホッケーの魅力を広く伝え、是非とも多くの皆様にアイスホッケーを好きになっていただき、スポーツで神奈川を盛り上げたいと考えています。
また、2027年３月から９月にかけては、国際園芸博覧会「GREEN×EXPO 2027」が開催されますので、こちらにも、多くの皆様に御参加いただきたいと考えています。
結びに、本大会の開催に御尽力いただきました関係者の皆様に深く敬意を表しますとともに、大会の御成功と皆様の御健闘をお祈り申し上げ、私のあいさつといたします。
It is my pleasure that the 23rd Norway Friendship Yacht Race is being held on a grand scale this year.
The Race traces its origin back to the 1964 Tokyo Olympics when His Royal Highness Crown Prince Harald of the Kingdom of Norway visited Enoshima as an Olympian. Since then, it has served as a proof of goodwill between Japan and Norway. Over the years, as an international race which brightens spring in Shonan, it has been beloved by countless sailing fans. Set against shimmering blue waters in Sagami Bay, the sailors compete at the race, demonstrating the result of practices, reading the direction of winds and overcoming the waves. I am sure that this gives great encouragement and impression to all spectators.
Creating opportunities for people to gather and enjoy themselves through sports and events is an important effort that leads to sports promotion and community development. Kanagawa Prefecture will also host the Ice Hockey Competition in Winter JAPAN GAMES from January to February 2027. By taking this opportunity, I hope to expand the charms of ice hockey to increase the number of fans and foster momentum through sports.
In addition, from March to September 2027, the International Horticultural Exhibition GREEN×EXPO 2027 will be held in Kanagawa. We are looking forward to welcoming many participants to this event as well.
Finally, I would like to express my deepest respect to those who made great efforts to hold the 23rd Norway Friendship Yacht Race and extend my heartfelt wishes for the success of the event.

第23回ノルウェーフレンドシップヨットレース開催につきお慶び申し上げます。こうしてご挨拶できるのは大変光栄で喜ばしい思いです。
ノルウェーフレンドシップヨットレースは、ハーラル5世現国王が皇太子時代の1964年東京オリンピックのセーリング競技に選手参加したことに由来します。2001年国賓訪日の折、思い出の地としてこの美しい江の島を再訪したことを記念して創設されました。
以来、セーリング関係者みな様の力強いリーダーシップにより、昨年で外交関係樹立120周年を迎えた日本とノルウェー両国の絆を象徴する友好イベントとして定着しています。今後もセーリングが国境を越えた友情の架け橋となり、この誇るべき伝統が未来の世代へと末永く受け継がれていくことを心から願っています。
ノルウェーフレンドシップヨットレース開催に尽力いただいている、江の島ヨットクラブ、実行委員会、藤沢市、そして関係スタッフ全ての皆様に心より感謝申し上げます。

Dear competitors, organizers, friends of Norway,
It is a great honour and pleasure for me to greet you on the occasion of the 23rd Norway Friendship Yacht Race.
The Norway Friendship Yacht Race (NFYR) was inaugurated to commemorate His Majesty King Harald V’s visit to Enoshima in 2001, as he returned to this beautiful area where he had competed in the Olympic Sailing Competitions in 1964.
Since then, thanks to the strong leadership of the sailing communities in Enoshima, the NFYR has come to symbolize the enduring bond between Japan and Norway, which celebrated the 120th anniversary of the diplomatic relations last year.
I sincerely hope that sailing will continue to serve as a bridge of friendship across borders, and that this proud tradition will be passed down to future generations for many years to come.
I extend my warmest gratitude to the Enoshima Yacht Club, the organizing committee, the City of Fujisawa, and all the dedicated staff who have worked so hard to make this wonderful and friendly yacht race possible.
Best wishes to every sailor for a spirited and successful race on the open water!

第２３回ノルウェーフレンドシップヨットレースが、今年も江の島ヨットハーバーで盛大に開催されますことを心からお喜び申し上げます。
本レースは、ノルウェーのハーラル国王が1964年に開催された東京オリンピックのヨット競技に出場された思い出の地である江の島へ王妃とご訪問されたことを記念して始まりました。以来、ノルウェーと日本両国の友好を深めるだけでなく、セーリングを通じて国際的な交流を育む場として、その歴史を重ねてまいりました。
江の島は、1964年の東京オリンピック並びに東京2020大会のセーリング競技会場であります。選手の皆様におかれましては、このオリンピック・レガシーの地で、日頃の練習の成果を十分に発揮され、熱戦を繰り広げていただくことを期待しております。
藤沢市では、オリンピック・レガシーを未来へ繋ぐため、「スポーツ都市宣言」を行い、市民の皆様が「いつでも・どこでも・だれでも・いつまでも」スポーツに親しみ、生涯にわたって健康で豊かなスポーツライフを楽しむことができる環境づくりに取り組んでおります。本レースが「スポーツのまち藤沢」にふさわしい素晴らしいレースとなり、関わるすべての皆様がスポーツの楽しさや感動を分かち合える機会となることを願っております。
結びに、本レースの開催にご尽力いただきました江の島ヨットクラブをはじめ、関係者の皆様に深く敬意を表しますとともに、参加各艇の安全と選手の皆様並びに関係者の皆様のご健勝を心から祈念申し上げ、あいさつとさせていただきます。
It is a great honor to celebrate the continued success of the 23rd Norway Friendship Yacht Race as it returns to the Enoshima Yacht Harbor this year.
This race was established to commemorate the visit of King Harald V of Norway and the Queen to Enoshima—a place filled with memories of His Majesty’s participation in the yachting competition during the 1964 Tokyo Olympics. Since then, it has not only deepened the friendship between Norway and Japan but has also served as a venue for fostering international exchanges through sailing, building upon its rich history.
Enoshima was the sailing venue for both the 1964 Tokyo Olympics and the Tokyo 2020 Games. I hope that all the sailors will fully demonstrate the results of their daily practice and engage in exciting races here in this “Olympic Legacy” location.
To pass the Olympic legacy on to the future generations, Fujisawa City has made the “Sports City Declaration.” Under this vision, we strive to foster an environment where sports can be enjoyed by anyone, anywhere, and at any time, and throughout one’s life. We hope this regatta, truly fitting for our “Sports City Fujisawa,” will offer everyone involved a wonderful opportunity to share the joy and profound inspiration of sports.
In closing, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude and respect to the Enoshima Yacht Club and everyone involved for their dedication to hosting this race. I sincerely pray for the safety of all participating vessels and the continued good health and success of all participants and guests.

春風と共に、セーリングを楽しむ季節が江の島にやってまいりました。
第23回ノルウェーフレンドシップヨットレースを開催出来ることを心より嬉しく存じます。
江の島ヨットクラブのメジャーイベントであるこのレースは、ジュニア、ディンギー、クルーザーのセーラーが参加出来る春の一大国際イベントになりました。セーリングを通じノルウェーの皆様との交流を深め、ノルウェー王国大使館より大使杯としてバイキングシップの優勝杯をいただきます。
これからもセーリングを通じ、友好を深めて行きたいと思います。 今年もこの大会を始めに年間を通じ、色々なセーリング大会が開催出来ることを期待しています。
これからのセーリング界にはこの様なレースが多くなり、多くのセーラーが楽しくレースに参加してほしいと思います。
ここにご支援していただいた企業、団体等の皆様、参加してくださる選手の皆様、そしてこの大会の運営に当たって下さる皆様方に改めまして御礼申し上げます。
With the spring breeze, the season for enjoying sailing has arrived in Enoshima.
We are very pleased to host the 23th Norwegian Friendship Yacht Race.
This race a major event of the Enoshima Yacht Club, this race has become a major spring international event for junior, dinghy and cruiser sailors. Through sailing, we will deepen exchanges with everyone in Norway, and receive the Viking ship trophy as an ambassador's trophy from the Royal Norwegian Embassy.
We hope to continue to deepen friendship between our two countries through sailing.
We look forward to this and other sailing competitions being held throughout the year.
There will be more races like this in the sailing world in the future, and I hope that many sailors will enjoy participating in the races.
Once again, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all the companies and organizations that have supported us, to all the players who have participated, and to all of you who have been involved in the operation of this tournament.
